Focus and scope

Spanish Journal of Legislative Studies publishes academic research in English focused in the analysis of the normative content and/or the social impact of current, historical or in the process of being adopted international, national or local legislation, with special emphasis on the legislative changes, normative interpretation changes or the social impact of the legislation.

Peer review

Peer-review is the system used to assess the quality of a manuscript before it is published. Independent researchers in the relevant research area assess submitted manuscripts for originality, validity and significance to help editors determine whether the manuscript should be published in their journal.

Once the text is received, the Journal Secretary will send an e-mail to the author to confirm the reception of the submission. The paper will be sent for peer review  of two subject matter experts who will be selected in accordance with the subject of the research. The author and the reviewers will be unknown to each other.

The Journal Secretary will notify the result of the peer review to the author, which may be:

– Positive, with no exceptions.

– Positive, but with recommendations for some amendments.

– Negative.

If one of the reviews is positive, and the other negative, the Journal Secretary will send the submission to a third subject matter expert, who will conduct another review.

The Editorial decision about the submission will not be delayed by more than eight week after the text has been received.
